Emma’s Gathering Place is getting a new name.Good food. Cold drinks. Every generation at one table.

We’re purchasing the K-Bar at 105 S Elm St and reopening it as Elm Street Social — a family restaurant and bar where the fish fry crowd, the music bingo crew, and kids splitting a basket of chicken fingers all fit under one roof. The comfort food everyone grew up on, with enough happening every week to keep the younger crowd coming back too.

From K-Bar to Elm Street Social

We didn’t buy a bar. We bought Emma’s gathering place — it just needs a little love and a lot more reasons to come in on a Tuesday.

Same building, new promise

The K-Bar at 105 S Elm St has been Emma’s corner for years. We’re keeping what people love — the easy, come-as-you-are feel — while adding more to the menu and atmosphere.

  • Family-friendly dining room + full bar, so everyone has a seat
  • A room that works for grandparents, parents, and grandkids alike
  • An event space out back for parties, reunions, and receptions

Something for every generation

Music bingo and trivia on Tuesdays, live music on Saturdays, and a menu that works for grandparents and grandkids at the same table. We’re keeping the rest of the calendar open on purpose — new nights get announced here only once the dates are locked in.

  • Tuesday game nights — music bingo or trivia, cover charge (price TBD)
  • Live music Saturdays, local and regional acts
  • New events posted here only when they’re confirmed

Host it at Elm Street

Our event space is available to rent for birthdays, reunions, receptions, meetings, and team parties — with food and drinks from our own kitchen and bar. Pricing depends on your date and group size. Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll quote it.

🍻 Meet the New Owners! 🍻

❤️ Andrew & Amanda Stewart ❤️
A small-town couple with big dreams and a whole lot of heart!

Hey, Emma, Missouri, and all our surrounding communities! 👋

We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves! We are Andrew and Amanda Stewart, and we live just down the road in Aullville, Missouri, with our two beautiful daughters.

For as long as Amanda can remember, she has dreamed of owning her very own bar and grill. Thanks to the wonderful opportunity to meet Wanda and Buddy, that dream is finally becoming a reality! ❤️

We are just two small-town people with big dreams, hoping to bring great food, cold drinks, live music, entertainment, laughter, and a place where everyone feels welcome to the wonderful community of Emma!

We know this establishment has been a part of Emma for decades, and we are incredibly excited to carry on its history while creating new memories for decades to come!

❤️ A Little About Us ❤️

👩 Meet Amanda!

Amanda was born and raised right here in Missouri! She grew up in the small town of Moberly, where she lived until she was 17 before venturing off to the big city.

Life took her on quite the journey! She fell in love, got married, and spent 20 years building a life and family. That chapter blessed her with her first beautiful daughter. After some major life changes, a divorce, and a few more twists and turns, she was blessed with her second beautiful daughter.

Through all of life’s ups and downs, one thing never changed: Amanda’s love for people, small-town communities, and her dream of owning a bar and grill where friends could gather and memories could be made.

👨 Meet Andrew!

Andrew is also a small-town kid at heart! He was born and raised in Mound City, Kansas. He understands the importance of community, hard work, and looking out for your neighbors.

Andrew had a previous marriage before meeting Amanda, and like her, life eventually led him exactly where he was meant to be.

💕 Our Love Story 💕

Andrew and Amanda met in August 2018, and it didn’t take long for either of them to realize they had found their person!

They knew they wanted to build a life, chase dreams, and take on whatever adventures came their way together.

In November 2019, they tied the knot, and they’ve been building their dreams side by side ever since!

Together, we also own Stewart Family Fireworks, a small family business based in Aullville, Missouri. We love being business owners, meeting new people, and giving back to the communities that support us.

🍔 Why Emma? Why a Bar & Grill? 🍻

Because we believe small towns deserve great places to gather, too!

We want to create more than just a place to grab a bite to eat or have a drink.

We want a place where:

  • 🎶 Live music brings people together.
  • 🍔 Friends and families can enjoy good food.
  • 🍻 Neighbors become friends.
  • 🎤 Entertainment brings excitement to our little town.
  • ❤️ Everyone who walks through our doors feels like part of the family.

We aren’t coming in expecting to change everything overnight. We know this establishment has a long history, and we respect that history. We want to build on it, breathe some new life into it, and give people a reason to come back again and again!

We know there will be challenges, lessons to learn, and plenty of long days ahead, but we are ready to put our hearts into making this dream a success.

❤️ From Our Family to Yours ❤️

We cannot wait to meet each and every one of you in Emma and all the surrounding communities!

Whether you’ve been coming to this establishment for 30 years or you’ve never stepped foot inside, we hope you’ll stop in, introduce yourself, share a story, and become part of this new chapter with us.

We are so thankful to Wanda and Buddy for giving us this opportunity, and we hope to make them and the community proud.

Here’s to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a future filled with great food, great music, great friendships, and unforgettable memories! 🍻🎶

With love and excitement,
Andrew & Amanda Stewart ❤️

P.S. We will be adding a family photo soon so you can put some faces to the names! 📸
We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors!

Good to know

When exactly do you open?

Grand opening is confirmed: Saturday, January 9, 2027, with Ryan Abney playing live from 8:00 to 11:00 PM. We’re purchasing the K-Bar in January; if Missouri licensing shifts anything, we’ll update the date here and on Facebook right away.

Is it family-friendly or a bar?

Both, on purpose. The dining room is family-friendly all day; the bar is full-service for 21+. That’s why the name is Family Restaurant and Bar — bring the kids for dinner, come back Saturday for live music.

Can we rent the event space?

Yes — the event space hosts private parties, reunions, receptions, and meetings, with food and drinks from our kitchen and bar. Rental pricing depends on your date and group size; use the “Host it at Elm Street” email above and we’ll quote your event.

I’m a musician — how do I play a Saturday?

Use the musician email in the “Host it at Elm Street” section above and include a video link. We’re especially looking for central Missouri acts who play Warrensburg, Higginsville, Concordia, and Emma.

What about karaoke and special event nights?

Karaoke is on: Saturdays Jan 16, Jan 30, and Feb 27. Tuesday, Feb 9 brings Adult Toy Bingo (21+ only), and Saturday, Feb 6 pairs live music with a Valentine’s Day special. The full January & February calendar is above. Open mic and comedy aren’t scheduled yet — new nights appear here only once dates are confirmed.

What happened to K-Bar?

Same location at 105 S Elm St, new ownership and a new name: Elm Street Social. We’re grateful for what K-Bar was to Emma and we’re building what’s next on that same corner.
